Sparkworld support for 'Living Coast' Dilemma
17/05/2007
Keeping your fur and feathers clean when you’re a penguin, a seal or a tufted puffin and you have to meet the public can be difficult. But the promotional threesome at Living Coasts in Torquay can be pristine without preening thanks to a donation to the attraction of a large washing machine by Devon electrical wholesalers and retailers Sparkworld Limited.
The wildlife attraction – part of the Paignton Zoo group – approached Sparkworld as they were having difficulty keeping the costumes clean. “They are used a lot at this time of the year to attract visitors to Living Coasts, and we need to have them clean and smart,” said the attraction’s visitor services manager, Sarah Wyatt.
“With the new washing machines that’ll be an easy job – and we can also use it to clean out keepers’ uniforms as well.”
Tristan Cook, director of Newton Abbot-based Sparkworld, said: “Paington Zoo has been one of our favourite charities for a number of years, and when we were approached we were delighted to be able to help.
“We have supplied Living Coasts with a Hotpoint Aqualtis machine which should do the job admirably. We always want a seal of approval for all the things we supply, and now we also have the approval of a seal!”
