Liebherr’s programme of domestic appliances is noted for its brilliant concept, modern design and well-planned solutions for optimum user convenience. It includes table-top, free-standing and combined refrigerators and freezers, freezer chests, food storage and drink cooling refrigerators, wine cooling and wine-temperature control cabinets as well as refrigerators and freezers for commercial use.
Domestic appliances from Liebherr are a symbol of quality in Europe and beyond. Every day more than 7,000 appliances leave Liebherr’s various production plants.
50 years Liebherr-Great Britain Limited
LGB is celebrating its 50th birthday this year. Founded in 1961 as Liebherr Building Machinery Limited in Hatfield, the headquarter is situated in Biggleswade since 2004.
A celebration took place on 1 July with invited guests. Dr. H. C. W. Liebherr welcomed the guests under blue Summer skies. His sister Isolde Liebherr and his son Jan Liebherr also attended the festivities. Paul Robson, Managing Director, gave a short précis of the 50 year long history of the English Liebherr branch followed by a celebration. On 2 July the Board of Directors thanked the staff and their families for their continued contributions with a staff party.
Originally Liebherr Building Machinery Limited was founded to deliver tower cranes to the British market. Today the English subsidiary has a vast program of products. In addition to manufacture, sales and repair of earthmoving machines, mobile cranes, concrete mixers, tower cranes and tracked machines, Service is also organised from here covering the English and Irish markets. In 2007 Liebherr-Rental Ltd was founded to provided rental of construction machines.
In addition to the head office in Biggleswade further Service depot are located in Aberdeen, Bathgate, Sunderland, Wigan, Cannock, Sheffield and Weston-super-Mare. Liebherr employees currently approx 850 members of staff in England and Ireland.
